Is Christmas Cactus Safe for Dogs and Cats?

Christmas Cacti (*Schlumbergera* spp.), also known as Holiday or Thanksgiving cacti, are completely non-toxic and 100% safe for both cats and dogs. Certified safe by the ASPCA, these flat-segmented cacti lack the sharp spines of desert cacti, making them physically safe for curious pets. They contain no cardiotoxins, oxalates, or toxic saps, so they will not cause chemical poisoning if chewed.
